    Review of Classical Art Academy, October 12, 2011

    In the color mixing workshop Michelle taught us how to mix color via her exclusive system.Students then put theory into practise and found we could easily mix any color we saw! Michelle is a fantastic teacher - she always creates a positive learning environment, sharing her considerable experience and knowledge.

    Review of Classical Art Academy, August 14, 2011

    Michelle Philip's advanced oil-painting class at the Classical Art Academy was everything I had hoped for and more. Having studied oil painting at the Lacoste School of the Arts in France and at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, I had already taken many oil painting classes, when I enrolled at the Classical Art Academy this past summer. In just ten weeks, Michelle taught me color-mixing techniques which have taken my skills to an entirely new level. Her clear and patient communication style, combined with an incredible depth of classical art knowledge, make Michelle Philip an ideal teacher for the beginner as well as the advanced student. I enjoyed the intimate class size and thought the cost of tuition to be very reasonable. I would recommend Michelle Philip as a teacher to anyone interested in learning or refining classical oil-painting techniques. The best art class I've ever taken!

    Michelle is a truly gifted and skilled teacher and artist. She uses her vast expertise and talents to target her instruction to the specific needs and desires of each individual student. She does this with warmth, encouragement, and a delightful sense of humor. My drawing evolved so much during my year at Classical Art Academy. If I did not need to go back to work full time, I would continue studying with Michelle every week. She has touched my life in such a powerful way and has helped me to unlock my wellspring of technical and creative drawing potential.

    Review of Oil Painting Classes, January 12, 2011

    Michelle is a great asset to the art community here in Boulder! She provides much needed access to the diciplines of the old masters. The fledgling art scene here benefits greatly from the educational opportunities she offers through the Classical Art Academy.
