Review of Jingui Golden Shield Qigong, January 31, 2009
I have been studying Golden Shield with Dan for almost two years. I have to say, it is a fantastically effective practice for me.
When I first started practicing, I was in school and working -- I was so worn out and stressed that I was receiving acupuncture at least once a week just to keep from burning completely out. Within 2 months of starting this practice I rarely went to acupuncture, and within 4 I no longer needed it. But, in this same time, I had actually increased my work and school hours.
My baseline physical stamina and clarity had increased to where I could put in 65+ hour weeks between school and work and be effective in both the whole time. It completely blew me away.
Dan is an excellent instructor. There are subtleties to the blocks and challenges you can experience in this training that would shut down my practice if it weren't for Dan's compassionate and incisive guidance.
I could go on and on about the benefits I've received from taking on this practice, but I'll leave it at this: If you are interested, come in and talk to Dan and the students. If you are still interested, you just have to try it for a while. There is no way to explain the experience, you just have to do it.

Review of Jingui Golden Shield Qigong, January 29, 2009
I've been training in this system for almost a year now and it's hard to outline all the positive changes it's brought. It's helped me tremendously with resolving long time health and hormone imbalances that have now evened out. I am currently working on my acupuncture and oriental medicine degree and had experience with different types of Qigong, Tai Chi and yoga in the past. I also completed my yoga teacher training in India but I have been amazed by this JinGui system. Judging from my acupuncture training and exposure and from meeting the lineage holder and Qigong master of this system in Austin, I can personally say this is a very authentic lineage.
I liked the fact that the classes are always open for interested people to come and observe and there is no pressure to begin the training.
I was also worried as a woman that the class would be very macho and martial arts like, but that was definitely not the case. Dan, the instructor and the other students create a nice community feel with a good atmosphere. I'm so thankful for this opportunity!
