  Review of Hops & Chops - Startup Happy Hour, September 22, 2009

  Hops and Chops was started (and named) by Daryn and a few others, and provides a weekly gathering for early-stage entrepreneurs to gather in an informal setting to ask question, network, and just blow off steam. There's almost never an agenda of any sort, and there's never been a speaker of any kind -- but, we do have local press/media show up from time to time, visiting web B-listers, and a wide range of Seattle startup fanatics is regular attendance.

  The regular location (Linda's, on Pine St., on Capitol Hill) is a nice dive-ish bar, with great food special after 7pm (3 sliders for $3); and, a great selection of beers. They also specialize in surly bar wenches.

  Review of Getting started on Tumblr, March 24, 2009

  Daryn knows a ton about Tumblr.com and just blogging in general. He's taught me a lot in terms of improving my blog and getting a better idea of using the tumblogging platform that is Tumblr.com. If you have any questions about blogging or just want to talk tech -- he's always there with some advice and an opinion.

  I'd definitely recommend Daryn as a blogging teacher, I learn most of my tricks from him. Cheers!

  Great guy, super passionate about technology. Daryn helped me set up my personal Wordpress blog. (http://blog.salar.name)

  Actually, I work with him at TeachStreet and constantly interrupt him when he is in the middle of very important work to start frivolous conversations. Daryn helping with my blog started out this way. I guess that is the price one pays for fame.

  He's patient and likes people so message him if you are an aspiring blogger in the city.

  Review of Getting started on Tumblr, December 11, 2008

  If you are a blogger and want to use Tumblr, Daryn is the man to ask. He's knowledgeable, friendly and a great blog guide. If you're hungry for some social networking skills, he can help (and I'm pretty sure he'll cook for you too).
