I am an experienced, credentialed public school teacher, and a published poet. In addition to my experience as a classroom teacher in Oakland and Berkeley, I have taught poetry at the Berkeley Unified School District's elementary and middle school Cazadero Music Camp Jumpstart programs for the past four years, and have led professional development workshops on teaching poetry. My poems have been widely published in literary journals throughout the United States and abroad, including Measure, Blue Unicorn, The Lyric, Modern Haiku, The Formalist, The Chimaera, Pivot, Sparrow, and many others. I have been a Pushcart Prize nominee and a finalist in the prestigious Howard Nemerov Sonnet Award. I live in Berkeley with my wife and two daughters.
