I have always been attracted to jewelry. My mother was a silversmith and I used to always like to sit and watch her make beautiful jewelry for friends and family. I have had my hand in the jewelry business most of my life. I have worked in Fine Jewelry Sales, Marketing and many aspects of the Jewelry Manufacturing business. Now I make my living creating and selling my own designs.
I also like to teach. It is much easier to get started than most people realize. I enjoy teaching wire wrap because you don't need many tools or materials and you end up with a finished piece, no torches or ovens. I also find that most people are very inspired once they conquer wire wrap and quickly go on to learn other aspects of jewelry making. It feels good to introduce people to something that gives them so much satisfaction and inspiration to go to the next level.
Personally I find that jewelry design is very therapeutic for me. Many of my students tell me it is the same for them.
