Danette Johnston, Owner/Trainer
Danette is Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of WA as well as a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (www.ccpdt.org). She has been training (dogs and people!) working in animal hospitals and shelters for the past 12 years, owning and operating dog’s day out for the past nine years. Danette has done extensive individual study in canine behavior and has participated in training programs by such behavior luminaries as Ian Dunbar, Patricia McConnell and Trish King among others.
In 2006 Danette had a chapter published in The Dog’s Trainer’s Resource (Dogwise Publishing) on dog day care and dog-dog interactions. She was also a featured speaker the Society of Veterinary Behavior Technicians (SVBT) 2006 annual conference in St. Louis. She is an active member of both the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and the SVBT. Danette is a licensed Canine Good Citizen evaluator for the AKC as well as a Licensed Delta Society Pet Partner’s (animal-assisted therapy) Instructor.

"Great class with memorable results"

We signed up for a weekly group class. Our dog improved, as did we! We used everything we learned, even though we don't consider ourselves hard core when it comes to training or obedience. The class was laid back and well worth it! Also fun to see dogs of other ages and breeds, and how they responded to training.
