Review of Double Bass Drumming Class, February 03, 2009

I must say that Chase is an awsome teacher. He went through each excercise with every individual in the class to insure that we all understood our practice assignment for the week. The following week was fun to show how we've progressed. The great part of the class was seeing how everything could be applied. He was able to help me with my technique to improve my speed, strength, and evenness. It's improved my confidence in my abilities and made drumming so much more fun without being frustrated all the time. It was such a blast that I'm considering taking the class again.

    Thanks again,
    John Barrett

Review of Drummers Crash (Boom, Bang) Course, February 03, 2009

All my life I had this unrealized desire to learn to play the drums. A friend invited me to join the Drummer Crash Course at Donn Bennett Drum Studio, for total beginners. I'm 52 and I admit I was really nervous. But am I glad I did!

Even at the end of the first lesson, all of us (total newbies to the drums) were keeping the beat with classic drum patterns! There were 3 of us older gals who took the course, 2 young kids, 1 high school guy and 1 adult guy.

After 4 lessons (which I totally looked forward to every week) and very little practice in between, I couldn't believe that we could ALL play to real songs, and that we were all totally synchronized. We learned some cool fills and crashes and gained alot of confidence.

Hats off to Donn and Scott, who were outstanding drum teachers. They tag-teamed our class, and they were patient, encouraging, FUN, totally knowledgeable, open to questions, focused on our individual learning. This class was a blast.

I am so glad that Donn offered this class. It's an awesome value for a low price, and now when I watch rock bands perform, I keep the beat with the drummer!

Review of Double Bass Drumming Class, January 28, 2009

Recently, I joined Chase Culp's class on using the double bass pedal. I've always wanted to use one. He first showed us the basics, and let everyone play what we learned, and we played new things step by step. We learned very easily and improved our skills. We always did the rudiments, which is good to do first. When someone messed up, Chase let the person play a little easier way so they could get it. He let us do some fun stuff, he gave us some facts, and stories. Chase is a very good teacher because he helps you understand, and he breaks down hard rhythms into easy, slow ones. He is very fun to practice with. He knows his licks and chops. And yes you SHOULD take this class.

Review of Drummers Crash (Boom, Bang) Course, January 27, 2009

Donn Bennett came highly recommended from a UW music professor when I was doing research on finding a good drum teacher. My 12 year old son and his best friend LOVE this class! Not only are the instructors very knowledgeable and have lots of experience playing in different bands, but they pass their enthusiasm onto the students in their class. On top of that, it is priced very well. In 4 lessons, they learn the whole set of drums - just enough time to learn the basics and then figure out whether you want to commit to private lessons or not. My son has a new found passion other than video games - a definite plus in today's world of teens!

Review of Donn Bennett Drum Studio, January 14, 2009

Our oldest son started going to Donn Bennett Drum Studio when he was 7 years old. Seven years later we are still there and loving it. In fact, we now have two children taking lessons with Chase Culp and we would not go anywhere else. In addition to regular weekly lessons, the professionals at DBDS offer master classes, guest musician lectures, a variety of camps, events and special interest classes, and an overwhelming amount of education, selection and support when it comes to equipment. We look forward to many more years to come.
