Arthur Pugh, is widely known as an educator / clinician and performing artist. Currently, he is a freelance musician and music educator; graduated from The Hartt School of Music with a BS. in Mus. Ed. / Sp. Ed., West Virginia University with a M. of Mus., Harvard University Ph.D. an again The Hartt School of Music for his DMA.. Dr. Pugh has previously taught public and private school in Connecticut, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. He’s been Dean of the Music dept. & professor of Trumpet at Morris Brown College, on the graduate faculty of San Jose State (now San Jose University),

As a professional trumpet player, He is a skilled musician in classical, commercial, and jazz idioms, currently playing trumpet for television and movie soundtracks as well as Jingles, Record Dates, Video Games and a good deal of 'live music' such as Las Vegas shows. He has given master classes and recitals at Hartt School of music and Boston University, and given lectures at the Curtis Institute, Oberlin College, and Harvard University. His performing affiliations have included the Hartford Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra, Chestnut Hill Symphony UAE Philharmonic Orchestra, Venezuela Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Puerto Rico just to name a few and has been the recipient of 27 gold & platinum albums.

Currently here in Ga. he has been contracted to design and develop the music & arts program for one of the state charter schools (K-5) in Clayton county. Pugh’s principal teachers include Sigmund Hering, Roger Murtha, Roger Sherman and Robert Nagel, founder of the New York Brass Quintet. Since being here, Dr. Pugh has also had success with two of his trumpet students from Georgia, recently being excepted to Juilliard (one 1st yr. & the other in her 2nd yr.) Dr. Pugh started “The Trumpeters Studio” in the southern crescent area in 2006
