Educational Advancement Academy (EA2) was founded in 1999 when Ruth A. Wilson, MA , and Robert C. Hauser pooled their complementary backgrounds in education and business. EA2 implements an effective one to one format to educate students in grades K-12. Using a student-centered approach, learning programs are specifically tailored to meet student needs. Students are individually instructed, one teacher to one student, keeping instruction appropriate for each student. This method of customized instruction results in a high success rate for our students. The process begins with a personalized needs assessment and development of instructional goals. During each session, the student works with the same teacher, who frequently serves as a mentor as well as an instructor. We monitor and adjust as necessary to maintain an appropriate instructional level throughout the program. EA2 offers tutoring , academic coaching , and instruction for credit . Non-credit instruction can include tutoring or a self-contained program for remedial or enrichment purposes. Academic coaching is appropriate when the student needs support with organization and study skills rather than a particular content area. EA2 can coordinate with other schools while students work on building these strategies. Each instructional program is different because each student is different. Students who enroll to earn academic credit at EA2 have a variety of options. Some choose to attend EA2 as full-time students at the middle and high school levels. Others choose a dual-enrollment, splitting their day between EA2 for academic subjects and another school for electives, PE, and high-interest subjects. Others will attend another school during the day and schedule EA2 sessions after school to make up deficit credits or to accelerate graduation. The EA2 staff has years of experience building partnerships with local public and private schools to help students achieve their goals. EA2's credit courses are aligned with the Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements , and are approved by the State of Washington Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction and accredited by the National College Association of Athletes (NCAA) . EA2 can also provide a transcript review and advise students about the appropriate courses to assure that coursework moves students closer to completing graduation requirements. We can even issue a high school diploma when all graduation requirements have been met. Students experience difficulties, frustration, and sometimes failure in the traditional school environment for many reasons, including large impersonal class sizes, illness, learning disabilities, learning style differences, ADHD, and emotional difficulties such as depression or anxiety. Criteria for admissions are determined on a case-by-case basis. EA2's practice of personalizing instruction facilitates student success. EA2 has three convenient locations in Bellevue , Sammamish and Seattle and a talented staff with a wide range of experiences and skills. We invite you to call or visit for more specific information on how EA2 can tailor instruction to meet your educational needs.
