Review of Basic Sidecar/Trike Course, December 18, 2009

We had two great teachers in Jeff and Chris. I took this class several weeks ago so I can legally ride my Vespa LX150. Since it's over 150cc's I need to have a motorcycle license. I came into this wanting to learn how to ride a motorcycle along the way, and it was a ton of fun.

They set up the class in a classroom and on the range. They have their own motorcycles you can test on, which was awesome since I've never driven a motorcycle (other than a scooter) and was excited to do so. I know now, I still have a lot of practice ahead of me -- but I have the basics down.

Jeff was a great teacher and was definitely helpful in providing us with the basics on how to ride a motorcycle along with be very encouraging. The encouraging aspect of his teaching was the key for me. I'll be honest, I was pretty scared during some of the drill (i.e. thinking of dropping the bike, skidding, etc.), but he always kept you confident. Great teacher.

Chris had the same type of teaching style on the range. He kept me at ease like this whole motorcycle thing wasn't a big deal. Kept my mind off of things. The tips and tricks he provided were easy to implement, and helped me build my skills on a bike.

    • Pros:
    • Helpful, Encouraging, Patient, Funny, Good communicator
    • How was this location?:
    • OK
    • How was the price?:
    • OK

    I would recommend this teacher

Review of Motorcycle Safety Training - Novice Rider Course, August 20, 2008

This isn't a review, exactly, but a comment from an ESC MSF coach.

I've been teaching MSF classes for Evergreen (as an independent contractor) since 2000. (I took the course as a novice in 1998.) I think everyone who rides (that includes passengers) should take this course!

In the summer, we have mid-week classes. Come join me in at Lake WA Technical College in September! We'll have fun (laugh a lot) and you'll come away with a set of skills that can launch a successful two-wheeled adventure, even if that adventure is only a periodic commute.

Review of Motorcycle Safety Training - Novice Rider Course, June 21, 2008

I took this class after I bought a scooter, and wanted to learn the basics of motorcycle safety -- well, the class very literally changed my life! Not only did I learn more than I expect (I actually learned how to ride an actual motorcycle with the clutch and gears... much beyond what I expected for a basic scooter class), but it led to the idea behind TeachStreet... that is, helping people find great local classes, like this one!
