I grew up in California and am very glad to be back in this beautiful and inspiring state. While in middle school I began composing, playing piano and cello. The cello came incredibly naturally to me as I matured through high school. My private teacher was a graduate of the great Juilliard School and convinced me to audition at the equally renowned New England Conservatory of Music. There I grew exponentially as a musician given the incredible amount of inspirational personalities that visit and teach regularly at the Conservatory including Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhac Perlman, and many great quartets. In addition to instrumental cello studies, I became fluent in orchestral repertoire, chamber music, music theory and composition. After my completion at NEC, I decided to continue my musical education receiving a fully endowed scholarship to Rice University studying with world renowned cellist Lynn Harrell. Highlights of my experience there include performing in a recital given by Mr. Harrell, and performing a faculty chamber music recital with Mr. Harrell, Cho-Liang Lin (World renowned violinist) , and James Dunham (Former member of the Cleveland Quartet). I have also been fortunate enough to audition and attended some of the most competitive music festivals in the world. In 2005 I was chosen among twelve cellists to attend the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Akademie in Germany working with the worlds greatest conductors including Christoph Eschenbach, Yutaka Sado, Christopher Hogwood, and Yakov Kreitzberg. Subsequently in 2008 I would be invited to tour with the orchestra to perform concerts in Lithuania, Russia, Armenia and Japan. In 2006 I was invited to the Pacific Music Festival in Hokkaido, Japan working with such musicians as Valery Gergiev, Daniel-Muller Schott and violinist Midori. Upon completion of my Master's degree I decided to move to the Bay Area to become a part of this city's wonderful cultural environment.
