My name is Cara and I work as a free-agent yoga instructor in the Seattle area. I am currently available to sub for vinyasa, ashtanga, and basic yoga classes.

Like many modern yogis, I have explored many variations on the teachings of yoga, and have found value and insight in each one. Although each lineage and teacher may have a different approach to practice, all yoga helps us to tap into our essence and to unfold fully into the experience of being human. I believe that whatever the outward practice, an approach of sincerity, mindfulness, and joyfulness will yield deep transformation. My role as a teacher is to create a safe space where students feel inspired to cultivate these qualities in their practice of asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing).

I received my teaching certification in 2006 in ashtanga vinyasa yoga from the Centered Yoga Institute on Koh Samui, Thailand, and have completed further studies in teaching at the Ashtanga Yoga School in Seattle. Over the years, I have studied and practiced vinyasa flow, Iyengar, Bikram and ashtanga as well as anatomy, yogic philosophies, sacred chant, and pranayama. I am registered with the Yoga Allinace. My primary practice is the ashtanga vinyasa system as taught by Sri K. Patthabi Jois.
