I love working with children! My experience and qualifications include developing a children's software program for preschool through first grade. To help me in this endeavor, in 2006 I volunteered in a Seattle Public School kindergarten class. It was fun to be in the classroom to see how it's done today.

For the past two years, I've been tutoring in the Powerful Readers Program for struggling and early readers in the Seattle Public Schools. I tutor grades kindergarten through second grade, one-on-one and work with educators, as well.

I work one-on-one with students, grades preK-4. The Powerful Readers Program is a structured program of proven techniques for helping early and struggling readers learn to read proficiently. I have worked with children with disciplinary issues, learning issues (such as ADHD), students who are behind for other reason, as well as ELL students. I feel I am able to help students to feel good about themselves and their work, as we build their self confidence. In addition to helping them become an excellent reader, my goal is to help them change any negative image.
