Jonathan Koh

Faculty at San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Pre-college Division. Studied with Hans Jorgen Jensen at Northwestern University; collaborations with Pinchas Zukerman, Carter Brey, Amanda von Goetz, and Kyung-Sun Lee; substitute cellist, Chicago Symphony Orchestra and San Francisco Symphony Orchestra; Appearances at Kennedy Center, Davies Symphony Hall, Salzburg Festival, Disney Hall, Centre National Des Arts, Taos Performing Arts Center and Tong-yong Festival Hall; recordings for NAXOS and Dora Classics labels; Radio performances on WFMT, KMZT; teaching fellow, National High School Music Institute; former teaching assistant to Hans Jorgen Jensen.

Students have given solo recitals at Carnegie Hall - Weill & Zankel Halls; Solo performances at major venues in California including the Herbst Theatre, Legion of Honor, Napa Valley Opera House, Flint Center and San Mateo Performing Arts Center; Students have won top prizes in numerous competitions, including Individualis International Competition, ASTA State Solo Competitition, MTNA State, Regional & National Competitions, Mondavi Arts Center Competition, Peninsula Symphony Young Artists, Palo Alto Philharmonic Young Artists, Pacific Musical Society Competition, Oakland East-Bay Symphony Young Artists, Fremont Symphony Young Artists, MTAC VOCE Competition, Y.E.S. Foundation Scholarship Competition, CMTANC Young Artists Competition, Marin Music Chest Scholarship Competition, and U.S. Open Chamber Music Competition; Performances on From the Top, Napa Valley Festival del Sole, CNBC World TV, Martha Stewart Show, Aspen Festival, Junior Bach Festival, American Fine Arts Festival, Interlochen Festival; Solo with numerous orchestras in California.
