I have been a documentary photographer for 30 years. I started out photographing the leading local tourist attractions. That exposure led me to a position working for a local newspaper. Using my press pass, I met Joan Baez, Kenny Loggins, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Marley, and others backstage performing at the local arena. I was blessed to have traveled extensively, where my style was developed and my passion found. I was hired by various Airlines and sent to nay countried around the world including China, India, Scandinavia, Canary Islands, Morocco, Europe, Mexico, Caribbean, etc.

Strangers on the street mesmerize me. My eye looks for subjects separated from the crowds, while drawn to the simplicity of space that surrounds them. Emotions also play a pivotal part, capturing private moments. My excitement in photography is in creating art that gets your heart pumping. Although various methods are used in shooting street photography, being unnoticed has been my preference, whereby not to alter the natural flow. I find invisibility is key, shooting that split second, fleeting moment of time while creating a genuine outcome (perfectly described by Henri Cartier-Bresson: “A great photograph has a musical feel, and a single photograph tells lots of stories and can transfix a moment in time’s flow. You just have to live and life will give you pictures.”) I have been teaching compositional skills to every age level for the last 12 years and have written a number of articles on “how to see.”

I have 20 pages of amazing feedback from participants. My sessions are in such demand and not only because of the education received but they are fun too! A lot of laughing with immediate learning from instant feedback of you work.

I also teach a webinare in image critiquing. You send in a number of images to be critiqued. The learning you receive from your own image plus those from your fellow students is pricelss...resulting in huge improvement quickly creating well framed images of fine art. My participants applaud when this session is over, the learning.

I am co-creator of photoworkshop.com, a photo website that began with a simple idea of being the place to go for education for all photographic levels, over 15 years ago.
