Looking for a friendly place to begin, continue, or add to your art practice?
Julia's Studio is a small, private art school for students age 16 and older who want to draw and paint. I offer you concrete, learnable tools for making, enjoying and discussing art in a supportive and structured environment.
The language I teach is the language of all art, and it belongs to anyone who wants to learn and enjoy it. My approach is practical and playful, serious and fun. I believe all of these elements are the nature of art itself. All you need is the desire to know.
Start at the beginning or deepen your current practice in a community of art-minded people. Take a class or a workshop, join us for an art party review or museum visit, or schedule a private mentoring session. Welcome!

Education
- BFA, Boston University, magna cum laude
Experience
- I have taught art to adults in Seattle since 1999 at venues including Kirkland Arts Center, Pratt Fine Arts Center (where I've twice won the 2D Department Teacher of the Year Award), North Seattle Community College, and the Frye Art Museum. I founded Julia's Studio in 2002.
