About Me
I began teaching just over two years ago at the urging of a friend who is a virtuoso pianist and has taught piano in this area for many years. I do not hold a degree, though I formally studied piano as an adult for about a year. Much of what I know I have learned through experience and studied two years of classical theory and composition in college. I have benefited from the skills and generosity of many individuals along the way, and I strive to honor their gifts to me by teaching with passion and purpose. I also studied classical voice for two years, and continue to hone my skills in both voice and piano by performing professionally, including weddings and other events. I am also a songwriter, and have written for my beginning students. I am currently working on a piece which is intermediate level.
