Kellie Murphy

I grew up in Rockaway, NJ with a very animal oriented upbringing. With an Animal Cruelty Investigator in the family, it’s no surprise I started working at my local animal shelter as soon as I was old enough. I have worked for years at a boarding kennel, animal shelter, a German Shepherd rescue group, and even worked as a wildlife rehabilitator. I have a bachelor’s degree in education and sociology. I met my doggie soul mate, Hudson, when I volunteered to be his puppy raiser for The Seeing Eye, Inc. in the 90’s. Shortly after, I began my long career at The Seeing Eye breeding station specializing in reproduction, training and puppy enrichment.

In 2007, I decided to to leave it all behind and travel the country with my German shepherd, Hudson. We lived on the road for about 7 months, traveling to 40 states, Mexico and Canada. We camped out, stayed in cheap hotels, and mostly stayed with whoever would offer us a place! I met some amazing people and saw such incredible things. Up until that point, it was clearly the best time of my life.

Once I dug quite a debt hole, I moved back to Jersey where I worked as a veterinary technician for about a year. At that point, my friend and I decided it was time to fulfill our dream of opening our own dog business. In August of 2008, we moved ourselves and our pets to Denver, Colorado and opened our own doggie daycare, boarding facility and training school. In September I decided to make it official and got my certification in dog training with the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. We have been open a few months now and while it is a LOT of work, we hope that one day all of our hard work will pay off.
