    Review of Encaustic Exploration, October 03, 2009

    I can't say enough good things about Kelly's Encaustic Class! Not only is she awesome at what she does, she loves it too, which makes her a wonderful teacher! She makes you feel right at home, is very knowledgeable in the medium, has lots of great ideas. She is lots of fun!
    I found the all day class a nice escape from the reality of my daily routine and responsibilities. The hot wax and blow torch was therapeutic for me...it sparked my creativity and was lots of fun to explore. It is one of the only mediums I have not tried I LOVED it! Perfect for any level of art experience...or the inexperienced!

    Review of Encaustic Exploration, August 26, 2009

    Having attended an arts magnet middle/highschool for 6+ years, and having taken almost every class it offers, I thought I'd explored pretty much every artistic avenue around me. For lack of a better word, I was a little burnt out on art in general. Kelly visited my photography class and opened my eyes to a completely new art form. The following summer I spent a few days working at Kelly's studio, working solely with painting--the artistic vision I thought I'd lost completely magically found its way back through encaustics. A perfect class with intelligent, useful, and funny instruction. One of the best classes (and best artists) I've ever encountered.

    Kelly is an excellent and experienced instructor. She answered questions before I had a chance to ask. She gives clear and kind direction. What caught my attention is she LOVES what she does and that shines through to my own inspiration and excitement with the process. There are so many layers (literally and figuratively) to encaustics, and Kelly is the perfect person to go on the encaustic journey with. I highly recommend Kelly!!

    Review of Encaustic Exploration, May 14, 2009

    I teach art in a Beaverton public school, & I've had Kelly visit my class last year--and will again this year--to teach my photo students h ow to work with encaustic. The combination might not at first seem obvious, but that's part of what makes Kelly a good teacher. She's always trying new things herself, and she has a smart kind of enthusiasm that tells you that this is more than just playing around. It is a serious approach to art-making that helps you to explore in a productive, intuitive way. My students loved her, & that's why I'm inviting her back.
