The Korean Society of Oregon is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), community-based organization officially established on March 1, 1967 with the commemoration of the "March 1st Movement". However, families had informal gatherings on March 1 as far back as the 1930s.
As The Korean-American community grows, KSO now represent, more than 25,000 Korean-Americans in Oregon. It is currently located on a spacious 3.7 acre lot with a building where KSO conducts day-to-day operations as well as Korean Language School.
This growth was made possible only with the tremendous support and assistance of many Korean-Americans in Oregon. We are very proud of our organization which has been well recognized by many other similar organizations for its true volunteerism, services, and representation.
In order to carry out our mission, representing and securing the rights of K-A's and preserving and promoting our history, cultural heritage and values, the KSO provides a number of programs such as Korean Language School, free citizenship class, computer class, etc.
