TeachStreet is Closing
Lauren Pastorek is a singer/dancer based in New York City. A daughter of symphony musicians, she began her musical training on the violin at the age of three. Lauren grew up in the theatre, performing in numerous productions with the Houston Grand Opera and the HITS Unicorn Theatre Company. After a short foray into television as the host of the UPN’s “Rocket’s Kidz Jam,” Lauren concentrated on classical music. She attended the Eastman School of Music, where she served as the student body president and graduated as valedictorian. After receiving her master’s of music in opera at Cincinnati College-Conservatory she returned to her first love, musical theatre. Lauren recently finished a successful run covering the roles of Missy, Cindy Lou and Suzy in The Marvelous Wonderettes at the Westside Theatre in Manhattan! Prior to that she was touring North America with the Trevor Nunn/Matthew Bourne production of My Fair Lady. Other recent shows include the national tours of Oklahoma! and The Will Rogers Follies, starring Larry Gatlin (Betty Blake u/s), on the stage of the Kennedy Center in Carnival! (Rosalie u/s), and around the country in regional houses playing roles such as Guenevere in Camelot, Meg Brockie in Brigadoon, and Gymnasia in ...Forum.
Lauren is also working on her first cabaret. A future performance may be in conjunction with Imperial Performing Arts.
Additionally, Lauren is working on an album.
