Libby Rehm

I returned to my artistic origins of mixed media and painting of all kinds after a long career as a corporate executive. My home is surrounded by the spectacular Colorado Rocky Mountains and Rocky Mountain National Park. My studio is located in Estes Park, Colorado. My studio's name - Elegant Elk Studios - reflects the large herds of elk that roam in my front yard, backyard, and right up onto my deck, raiding birdfeeders and peeking in windows.

My longtime romance with photography, wilderness travel and backroads, has resulted in a photo library exceeding 40,000 images. These images serve as reference and inspiration for painted papers, journal designs, paintings and mono prints.

My desire to make handmade books, utilizing my photos, has led me to a wide range of bookmaking and mixed media classes from nationally known artists inclduing Albie Smith, Cathy Taylor, Claudine Helmuth, David Ashley, Ed Hutchinson, Jill Berry, Lisa Engelbrecht, lynda Abare, Lynne Perrella, Susan King and many more.

Libby holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Colorado State University and has done additional business course work at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
