About Me
Marilyn I. Rodriguez has been a dedicated and professional sculptor since 1993. She resides in San Francisco, CA where she received her Bachelor of Science from San Francisco State University in 1981. From 1993-98 she studied classical figure sculpture and stone carving with International Master Sculptor Harriet Moore. Ms. Rodriguez's powerful style depicts a strong sense of movement, energy, and elegance that is easily recognized throughout her work.
Upon the recommendation of the Fine Arts Museums in San Francisco, Ms. Rodriguez has been asked by the Maybeck Foundation, to sculpt a five-figure life-size classical sculpture fountain for the Palace of Fine Arts Lagoon in San Francisco. Each figure will depict a different racial background, thereby representing a small sample of San Francisco's rich cultural diversity. All five figures will be dancing around an eighteen foot water spout emerging from the center of the circle. This project is scheduled to begin as soon as the funds are collected.
Ms. Rodriguez' favorite mediums are plasticine, later cast in bronze; stone carvings in marble and alabaster, resulting in a one-of-a-kind piece; and a small number of original terra cotta original sculptures. Her bronze sculptures are intentionally kept under limited editions of fifteen, thus enhancing the value of her work for serious collectors who care about the appreciation of their art collection.

Art always interested me, but I've never been very 'artistic'; what art class should I take to start out?
