I'm an active professional player. I have been playing drums for over 30 years and teaching for many of those. I have a degree from Berklee College of Music and have studied with jazz greats Bob Gullotti, and Alan Dawson. My main field of expertise is jazz and improvised music but I can play and teach most styles.

As a teacher I believe in building on the basics of reading, rudiments, 4 way independence and a survey of drumming styles/history to develop musicality and personal creativity. Advanced concepts of improvisation, odd meters, phrasing, time, use of texture, accompaniment etc. can also be incorporated.
