"...adventurous...bold and unique..." - Guitar Player Magazine “Heulitt's music and voice has its own identity..." - All about jazz dot com I'm a professional/touring/free-lance guitarist living in the Bay Area. I've been playing and teaching for over 20 years and in that time have shared the stage with Sting, Carlos Santana, David Grisman, Taj Mahal and many more. My areas of expertise are theory, harmony, voicing, the art of practicing, and improvisation. I happily teach a lot of beginners, but also have a knack for teaching more seasoned players and adept at opening new doors and breaking people out of old habits. I studied jazz and classical theory, harmony, arranging, and composition at the Interlochen Arts Academy and the University of Miami in Florida. I currently lead my own jazz trio and play with two world class drummers: Zigaboo Modeliste (The Meters) and Narada Michael Walden (Jeff Beck, The Mahavishnu Orchestra). I have a gift for teaching and love working with students of all levels and ages.
