Thank you for your interest in our dance program at Melanie’s Dance Unlimited. Our program is operated through the City of Normandy Park and the City of Des Moines Recreation Centers, so we are close, convenient and affordable
Miss Melanie, founder, began her teaching career over 25 years ago as a teenager. She earned recognition in talent competitions as well as college and local theatre. Being a performer herself, she knew what it took, and decided to teach others how to make it happen.
In 1989, she decided that a ‘face lift’ was needed in the world of studio dance, that it should be a place where self-esteem and contribution are evaluated above ‘perfect bodies’ or a ‘diva mentality.’ While teaching proper technique and classical skills, Miss Melanie has cultivated a core group of excellent, well-trained instructors who share her philosophy.
