Mindia Devi Klein, M.A.is an award winning flutist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, recording artist and master educator. An innovator in World Music Mindia teaches both the western silver flute and the bamboo flute of India called the bansuri. Flute students who are just beginning will find in Mindia's teaching all the essential elements for building a strong and lasting foundation: beautiful tonal development, breath control, theory and reading fundamentals, rhythmic and ear training, More developed students will benefit greatly from Mindia's experience as an innovator in genres in which improvisation is stressed: jazz, world music, and cultivating ones own stylistic voice.

Mindia also leads a weekly Balinese Gamelan Orchestra workshop. The gamelan is an ensemble form of music played in villages throughout all of Indonesia. New players are always welcome and no previous musical training is required. Gamelan instruments are primarily bronze metallophones, gongs, drums and such. The music is highly rhythmic and meditative at the same time. It is incredibly joyful and fun to play!
