I enjoyed a wonderful career with the San Francisco Fire Department and was Captain of the SFFD Coast Rescue Unit for over 8 years; I was also an Instructor in the SFFD Water Rescue Program for a number of years. I have been an active Scuba Instructor since 1991, and I currently hold the rating of NAUI Course Director. I certify folks at all levels from Scuba Diver to Scuba Instructor Trainer. Our motto here at Mitchell Scuba is "LEARN IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME". At the successful completion of your Scuba class you will truly be a 'certified diver" able to dive almost anywhere in the world with a buddy.

My focus is to train divers so they can go out and dive and not be tethered to an Instructor. My Scuba classes incorporate a lot of in-water training and class participation, and I do not take shortcuts. Be prepared for 10 hours of home study, 10 hours of class instruction, 10 hours of pool instruction, and 5 ocean checkout dives. At the completion of my Scuba Course you are "READY TO DIVE".
