Hoang Nguyen is an active concert pianist and piano teacher in Orange County. Born in Vietnam, He started playing piano at the age of seven and made his orchestral debut at the age of thirteen with the National Symphony Orchestra of Vietnam. In 1995, he went to France to pursue his musical studies at the National Conservatory of Versailles with Professor Desire N'kaoua. Three years later, he was admitted to the National Conservatory of Paris in the class of Professor Olivier Gardon and graduated with a Bachelor of Music in 2001. He performed in major music festivals such as Nice, Flaine, Normandie, Guerande as well as Saint-Germain des Pres and Cite des Arts Concert Halls in Paris.

In 2002, Hoang Nguyen was awarded the Elsie Sweeny music scholarship to study piano with Professor Evelyne Brancart at the Indiana University, Jacobs School of Music and graduated with a Performer Diploma in 2005. During the summer of 2006, he received intensive coaching from Vietnamese Pianist Dang Thai Son in Montreal, Canada. He also played the Master Class of Brigitte Engerer and Menahem Pressler.

Hoang Nguyen is currently working on his Masters Degree in Piano Performance at Cal State University, Fullerton with Professor Eduardo Delgado. He also attended piano pedagogy classes of Professor Martha Baker-Jordan as well as lectures of Alfred Publishing's piano educators: Denis Alexander and E.L. Lancaster.

A Grand Prize winner of the 2007 concerto competition, he was invited to perform the Piano Concerto for the Left Hand by Maurice Ravel with the Cal State Fullerton University Symphony Orchestra. He was also a finalist and awarded a Honorable Mention at the 2006 Los Angeles Liszt International Competition, Budapest Concert Division. Hoang Nguyen offers private piano lessons in Fullerton and Fountain Valley areas, his students attend the Orange County High School of the Arts.
