Search Engine Optimization for Blogger

one thing Wendy and I talk about is the benefit of getting your web
presence ranked quickly simply by using a blogging platform like
Blogger for creating your web presence. In this post, I’ll share a few
other simple steps you can take to optimize your Blogger template even
further.
Since moving to Wordpress, we have discovered there are several
themes available designed specifically for Search Engine Optimization
(SEO). However, if you’re a Google Blogger user, you’ll definitely want
to consider the following to help maximize your Blogger’s exposure on
the World Wide Web.
Let search engines find your blog!To ensure that search engines are able to crawl and index your
Blogger blog, check to see that “Yes” is selected for “Let search
engines find your blog” from your Blogger dashboard Settings tab.
By default, “Yes” is automatically selected but here’s how to verify:
From your Blogger dashboard, click the Settings tab. By default, the
Basic section is displayed. Scroll down the page to the option “Let
search engines find your blog” and verify that “Yes” is selected to
allow your site to be crawled and indexed by search engines.

The only time you’ll want to this option set to “No” is if you DO
NOT WANT your blog indexed by search engines. If this option is set to
“No,” Blogger adds some special code into your meta tag blog template
that tells the search engine not to index your site. If you don't plan
on publishing your website to the whole world (Wendy and I have a
private blogspot for delivering our Web Creation Workshop), you'll probably set this option to "No."
Again, by default the option is set to “Yes,” but it’s a good idea
to check it to make sure that search engine spiders are indexing your
blog.
