suba has redefined the way i think about dance. her teachings have inspired me to start to experiencing dance from a more holistic perspective. what i learn in her classes effect the way i walk in the world to such a positive degree that i'm not sure i ever want to stop taking her classes. i feel more whole as a human being because of what i have been learning with suba. suba's classes are equal parts laughter anddiscipline, growth and reexploration. in just a few simple words: try suba's class.

What can I say about the talented Subashini? When I first heard of her class, I could not contain my excitement. Finding her and the dance style, Bharatanatyam, has been one of the turning points in my life. I was very nervous when I walked into that first class, but as soon as Suba smiled at us and introduced herself, all the anxiety melted away. In the first 6 weeks of class, she taught us many of the basic moves in a way that would make any beginner feel comfortable and, eventually, become a better dancer. After a month, she already had us performing! I think my favorite aspect of Suba’s teaching is her confidence in those she teaches. She has that rare gift that all teachers should possess . . . to read her students well and challenge them because she knows what they are capable of. When she shows us a difficult move or a new dance, I take it as a huge compliment because I know that she wouldn’t ask of us what we cannot do. Her teaching inspires me to be a stronger and more confident person, in dance as well as life.
