Pamela Stone Turner, MSPT ( The full story :)
Pamela is dedicated to brining about a sense of inner peace to each of her clients utilizing the tools she has so gratefully learned in the past 10 years.
A native of Colorado, Pamela completed four years of study at the Colorado College in Colorado Springs obtaining a B.A. in Biology. She was introduced to the inner-workings of the body in an anatomical kinesiology class in college. Privileged to be able to work on three human cadavers, she was fascinated by the ability to “see” what she experienced as a dancer of more than 20 years. She was encouraged by the Head Athletic Trainer at the Colorado College to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy. Pamela went on to obtain a Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree at Regis University in Denver, CO in 1998.
During the last of her internships at Regis University, Pamela was offered a position at the Phoenix Center for Health Excellence as a Physical therapist. It was here that in 1998 Pamela began her Pilates training. She received her Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Certification and continued to work for another 3 years at the studio. It was during this time Pamela joined the Polestar team as an educator in training. After 28 years living in Colorado, Pamela felt pulled to the east, near a favorite family summer destination. She moved in 2001 to the opposite side of Lake Champlain to begin anew in Shelburne, VT.
After working in a fitness studio and several outpatient orthopedic clinics as a PT and a Pilates teacher as well as directing a Pilates studio and owning Pamela Stone Physical therapy, inc. for 2 years, she learned many valuable business skills and was able to surround herself with many knowledgeable people in the business world. As the opportunity became available, she moved into her own studio in February, 2005 in Burlington VT, and Pilates Space was born. As the owner of Pilates Space, a physical therapy, Pilates and Gyrotonic studio, Pamela kept busy teaching for Polestar and running and working in a successful business near beautiful Lake Champlain. She was once again drawn back to Colorful Colorado after 7 wonderful years in VT and in April of 2008 she sold her business to 3 very talented and gifted staff members.
Having moved across country to Steamboat Springs, CO, she is endeavoring to begin anew and learn more about the Steamboat Community. She is currently teaching classes around town and offers private instruction locally.
As a certified instructor and member of the Pilates Method Alliance as well as a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Pamela upholds the principals of the alliance and hopes to work hard to bring a Colorado community of Pilates teachers together and to share with each other a diverse knowledge base.
