PEEPs day camp sessions educate middle-school age youth about environmental and community issues that affect our local region. Counselors inspire children to take a leadership role in these issues while showing them that service can be fun and adventurous. PEEPs is a refreshing alternative to traditional summer camp offerings for this underserved age group.
The Northwest Service Academy created PEEPs in 2006 with the aim of providing a service-based environmental education summer camp for youth, ages 10 to 13. Youth involved with PEEPs gain skills in leadership and civic engagement, while discovering a sense of place within their community and the natural world.
