I've played music for many years in several different styles including bluegrass, blues, country, jazz, and folk. I currently play in several Portland based bluegrass and jazz groups. I teach mainly "by ear" using music theory applicable to the instrument and style being studied. I can write out tablature when requested (but don't encourage its use by my students).
