Took my first class with Sharon recently, a Fit & Sew Pants class. I was blown away with her professionalism, her teaching style, and great sense of humor. But most of all, I was impressed with the new tips and tricks she taught me! I got a lot out of her class. I am definitely a fan! I will be signing up for more of her classes in the future. She provides A+ instruction. I would highly recommend her!

I've taken five classes from Sharon over the past three years, including pattern making, draping, and construction topics.
I think Sharon is a fantastic instructor, and I plan to take more courses from her:
* She is very knowledgeable in each area; brings industry standards, efficient techniques, and background information to every class
* She has very thorough class plans and instructions for each topic
* She excels at individual attention. She spends time reviewing work and answering questions
* She's patient and willing to work with students in their chosen direction
* She brings insight into the current Portland apparel industry
* She's fun to be around

Sharon Blair is a wonderful teacher who goes the extra mile to ensure that her students are successful. She limits the number of students in each class so that everyone receives plenty of personal attention.

In this class, we selected either a jeans pattern or a slacks pattern, had the pattern fitted to our bodies, and learned lots of great construction techniques. The result is a pair of custom made pants.

I was very happy with all that I learned and immediately signed up for another class with Sharon.

I have taken several classes from Sharon, from aprons all the way to advanced draping and pattern making. She offers top of the line sewing instruction at a fraction of the price of a fashion or design degree. I truly believe you can take the skills Sharon gives you as far as you wish. She is patient and current and her curriculum teaches the industry standards, not home sewing. Not only that, but we laugh. A lot. No better in Portland as far as I'm concerned.

I have taken a few classes from Sharon Blair and have been very impressed with both her teaching and interpersonal abilities.
She demonstrated a real breadth of knowledge, attention to every student, and willingness to go well and above to help the students out. She knows how to explain complicated, overwhelming information to someone who is new to the subject, yet managed to keep students with more advanced knowledge engaged and challenged as well.
I have recommended Sharon's classes to a number of my friends and would not hesitate to do it again. Everyone I know have been very impressed with her as an instructor, as well as a person.
