Banjo player for decades and have taught private and group 5 string/3 finger lessons over the many years. Although I am an advanced player, I prefer to teach beginning and intermediate players.

Beginning: You are ready to learn from scratch (learning the rolls and such), to able to play some songs in Scruggs style but are ready to learn more, other tunings etc.
Intermediate: You are comfortable with Scruggs, know some tunes and ready to push on to melodic and various tunings.
Advanced Intermediate: Learn more complex stuff, seek new licks and advance ideas to a higher level.
