  I was impressed with how organized and prepared Sarah was for every class. She provided detailed handouts a week ahead and had her lesson all though out when we arrived. Then she proceeded to put us all at ease, tell funny stories and expertly teach us all the basics of jewelery/metals. I think everybody in the class felt they could do it all based on the instruction Sarah provided. Plus she was enthusiastic and helpful to everyone individually. Provided great suggestions on how to make our projects even better and loved to share great examples of her own and others work for inspiration.

  I would love to take more classes from her.

  I took Sarah's Jewerly and Metalsmithing I class at Pratt in the Spring of 2009. Sarah has an uncanny ability to individually help 8 students with their very different projects, while making each student feel attended to and heard. I never felt ignored in her class. She had excellent ideas and new how to guide students without telling them what to do. I would absolutely, 100% take her class again. She is adorable and has fiery red hair that matches her fun and quirky personality. I highly recommend her as a teacher.

  My class of Jewelry/Metalsmithing at Pratt was a fun and successful learning experience due to Sarah’s great patience and teaching skills. She is very knowledgeable, organized, a clear communicator, and demonstrates her techniques in a way that you learn to do it yourself. She took time to help each and every student in class to make sure they were successful and happy with their work. With her light hearted, great sense of humor, she helped me see an opportunity to do something another way instead of as a mistake. Learning to pound and pierce metal and play with fire I was able to finish a ring, chain, and have a good start on other projects. Sarah’s enthusiasm for her subject and her students is contagious and helped build my confidence. Her original, artistic jewelry is inspiring and demonstrates her creative talent.

  Review of Tailored Learning at Pratt Fine Art Center, May 11, 2009

  I took an eight week beginning jewelry/metalsmithing class from Sarah through Pratt. Sarah was a great teacher, very well organized and prepared, great handouts, and she always took the time to make sure demonstrations were useful and easy to see. Sarah's quirky sense of humor kept everyone paying attention and she was very patient and helpful during the inevitable "help, I've messed up my piece" moments. She took a personal interest in everyone's different projects. I was sad when the eight weeks were over, but I did finish the class with two sets of earrings that I was very happy with. I wouldn't hesitate to take another class from Sarah. Oh and her own work is pretty cool too!

  Sarah is quite accomplished in her teaching skills and her jewelry making talent. I really enjoyed the beginning metalwork/jewelry class I took from her. She was very excited about our enthusiasm about the work and always showed an interest in what I was doing individually, which I really appreciated. I like her quirky since of style. She is definitely NOT traditional in her jewelry style which I appreciate.
