My Full Circle Career
The Advertising Business to The Business of Education

Growing up, including when I entered college, I had in mind a single career path--advertising. To ensure that I did it well, I continued my business school education into graduate school in pursuit of my MBA. While there, the business department chairman asked me to tutor a hearing-impaired student. Little did I know the tutoring would become both a degree and a career-changing experience. I enjoyed it so much that I put aside my MBA degree mid-program, to earn instead an M.A. in Education followed with employment as a public school teacher.

An eventual opportunity to relocate to the West Coast found me living out my original business dream in advertising and marketing. During a successful 25-year career, I found myself engaged in management positions in everything from advertising agencies to Silicon Valley technology companies--my last dozen years with Fortune 100 company Cisco in San Jose and West Linn.

While the business of advertising and marketing was rewarding, I began looking for new challenges, ideally related to my ties to tutoring and education. Enter the nation’s premier in-home tutoring program and my opportunity to bring my career full circle. Not that I was totally divorced from education. Quite the opposite, I was literally married to it. My wife is a lifelong educator who currently teaches in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. She brings an invaluable perspective that, combined with the proven Club Z! tutoring system, helps ensure exceptional results for students seeking learning assistance.

From Advertising to education. Full circle, it continues to be an en exciting and rewarding journey.
