I have been playing for 19 years, touring nationally for 10 years and teaching private lessons for 12. I’m currently the musical director with Liv Warfield and play with Hit Machine at present. I have played with: Jennifer Batten, Linda Hornbuckle, Paul DeLay, Hit Machine, Bernard Purdie, and the Afrodisiacs and too many other bands to list.

My private lessons are tailored to provide a solid foundation broken up in 3 areas: Theory, Technique and Vocabulary. Theory to know what and why we are playing. Technique to allow us to play properly. And Vocabulary to give us ideas of lines and styles to allow the student to create his/her own bass lines in a band setting.

I teach various styles and techniques covering:

Blues, Latin, Rock, Jazz, Punk, Metal, Alternative, Ska, Afro Cuban and Caribbean. Styles taught are: Slapping, Tapping, Harmonics, Fingerstyle funk. Also artistic stylings are taught as well including Jaco, Victor Wooten, Flea, Stanley Clarke and more.

My number one goal is to make the lessons fun because that’s why we play music in the first place. In that positive space of fun, expression and creativity is where real, meaningful learning can be accomplished.
