Seattle Acting School's Profile

My family has been a part of American Theater for over 150 years. None of us achieved any stardom; just good stock players who passed along an innate passion for acting.

My Great-Grandfather was fond of bragging that he was still doing fifty weeks a year in Chicago when people were begging for work. Grampa went on the road with him and was a wage earning hoofer by age ten. My Grandmother would write plays for the family to perform and my Grandfather would dance a jig for the good farmers in North Dakota in the 30's. Mom won a singing contest at the county fair at age four and was still working in her 70's. I started in 1959 and by age 18 had been in over a dozen plays. After an award-winning broadcasting career, in both Seattle and Los Angeles, I decided I just wanted to teach acting.

For nine years I studied and taught at one of the largest, most reputable, most recommended schools in Los Angeles before opening my school in Seattle in 2001.

After six years of training, two of those years student teaching, I began teaching full-time as a senior instructor in Los Angeles. Within two years I doubled the size of the school. I built a second studio and worked with over 160 students a week, for years. That's what qualifies me to teach this approach.

I worked professionally in commercial voice-over, animation, ADR, radio, theater and film while in Los Angeles but my plan from the start was to build my own school in Seattle and create a permanent repertory ensemble comprised of Seattle actors.
