TeachStreet is Closing
Hello! My name is Diane Lovejoy, and I have been a performer and teacher of the violin for 28 years, having started my training and love affair for the instrument in NYC. Having performed and taught all over the states I currently teach in the Beaverton area, in OR.
In my studio - which is pronounced Seg-way - I use a variety of music best for each individual student. I have found the VIP Rainbow Tones series to be a most enjoyable way to start for students (and their parents!) and I am certified in this wonderful method. Suzuki materials and other standard repertoire are also part of the Segue training.
Over the years my students, ranging in age usually from 6 through adult, have performed in many venues. Young players have enjoyed membership in the Portland youth orchestras, while adult students learn for the pure joy of making music a part of their lives, knowing that age is no barrier. Many adults in my studio played years ago and are starting again, never having lost their love for playing the violin.
An interest in the physical challenges students are presented with led me to become a licensed Brain Gym Instructor, and the results are nothing short of amazing! For more ... www.BrainGym.org
All over the world, professionals and students alike have agreed that incorporating a few simple Brain Gym movements into their day helps them focus and play with more ease and confidence.
[Note to teachers; I am offering a Brain Gym workshop in March 2010 in Portland for studio and class music teachers. Feel free to call for more information. Please check out my website, which has lots of information about my studio, Brain Gym workshops, articles, research, etc.]
Everyone, enjoy your musical adventure!
