Sherry came to yoga six years ago after working as an architectural project manager and human resources manager. The stress of the corporate world had taken its toll and yoga was her salvation. Because she began yoga later in life and had to face her own limited mobility, she has a heightened sensitivity to ensuring her students move through the postures in a relaxed and comfortable way. The focus is classical-eclectic Hatha practiced in a slow meditative manner. Classes emphasize coordinating the breath with movement, beginning with long warm ups, moving slowly in and out of more challenging postures and cooling down with calming quieting poses. Students are encouraged to listen to and observe their bodies, practicing kindness and acceptance of where their bodies are today. Alternatives and modifications are provided when necessary to enable the student to feel more ease in the postures. She subscribes to the belief put forth so aptly by yoga master T.V.K. Desikachar, “Anybody can breathe; therefore, anybody can do yoga
