Dr. Shiang-Yin Lee received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in cello performance from the University of Washington, Master of Music in Cello Pedagogy from the University of Texas and Bachelor of Music with cum laude from the University of North Texas. She studied with Teachers Raymond Davis, Cordelia Miedel, Toby Saks, Yehuda Hanani, Marion Feldman and studied cello pedagogy with internationally renowned pedagogues Phyllis Young and Irene Sharp. She received her Suzuki teaching certificates from the Chicago Suzuki Institute and studied with Suzuki teacher trainers Carey Cheney, Jean Dexter, Barbara Wampner, Nancy Hair and Nancy Yamagata. She participated several summers at Aspen Music Festival. Her performances credits include solo and chamber recitals in both U.S. and Taiwan as well as playing with Aspen Sinfonia, University of Washington, University of Texas, Everett and Federal Way Symphony Orchestras, Seattle Choral Company. Before moving to Seattle, she taught at the TX String Project and was a teaching assistance at the University of Texas. She is a member of East West String Quartet, Lulli Piano Trio and A Triem Ensemble. A cello instructor with Music Works and Pacific Northwest School of Music since 2000, Shiang-Yin teaches with patience and ability to bring out the best in students.
