Amanda's positive approach to dog training taught me a completely different way of handling dogs. Toss out those awful training collars, pinch collars and spray. Dogs respond best and almost immediately to positive reinforcement and Amanda's got the right touch. Teaching your pup using positive reinforcement is not only better for the dog, but you'd be surprised how your own attitude toward training changes. It's fun and these training techniques can be altered (slightly) to train your spouse. (Ok, I'm teasing there a bit.) Get in one of Amanda's classes and have some fun.

Amanda Brothers worked with us to help our clever doggie work through some issues with aggression towards other dogs. We did some private sessions, one at our home and in our neighborhood, the other at the dog park. Our dog LOVED working with her; WE LOVED working with her. She listened to us, demonstrated techniques, and taught us so much about how to work with our dog. She brainstormed with us about different factors and triggers. She is an amazing communicator (animal & people!), and really met us where we were with our minimal training up to that point and our own personal concerns. We got what we needed to work through the issues in a way that has been compassionate, clever, and very effective. I look forward to working with Amanda again in the future.

"Flyod finds a new home"

Flyod was a shelter dog that seemed to have no chance for adoption. He had many behavioral problems but most of all he appeared to be dog aggressive. Everytime Flyod would meet another dog he went crazy. Turning to Amanda Brothers and her staff at Sidekick Dog Training not only helped Flyod with his problems but he was soon adopted into a wonderful family. How did Sidekick Dog Training do this? With lots of positive approaches not only for Floyd but also for me, now that's a great story with a very happy ending.

we enjoyed the focus on positive reinforcement in dog traning. Lessons were well-paced, not too much new info, lots of helpful suggestions.

Thanks for the feedback - in terms of the "last class," I think you mean the last day/graduation? As for talking, there is just so much good info that puppy parents need, and your class in particular had lots of questions. I do my best to keep things moving so that the puppies work as much as possible, but little guys can only work so much and it's good for them to learn to settle at your feet for a few minutes at a time, as well as practicing skills and playing. Thanks again!
