My writing skills span fiction (I'm a published author), to both simple and extensive web copy, to various technical documents, to marketing copy. I have written newsletters, business plans, job descriptions, and advertisements. I understand blogging, facebook, and twitter.

I have taught writing in many venues, from grade school workshops to one-on-one tutoring. I have started and run creative writing critique groups. I enjoy distance learning challenges, so am also open to students anywhere.

My teaching philosophy is that everyone who comes to me brings insights and understandings unique to them. I make sure I understand where the student wants to go in the art form and I focus on what the student is doing well and strengthen that, because humans respond far better to encouragement than critiques.

I have been dancing Argentine Tango going on five years, and teach beginners. As a woman, my strength is in the woman's role, also known as the "follower" role, but I also lead and can teach the basics of the man's role as well.
