Meet our Director - Linda Anderson

My approach to this group comes not so much from a "choral" singing background, (although I’ve performed in many) but more from my expe-rience in the musical theatre. That’s what a Show Choir de-pends on…yes, great vocal production, but we rely heavily on theatrical performance.

I was a professional singer/dancer/actress (Actor’s Equity & Screen Actors Guild) for 15 years. I"ve worked and/or trained with such "stars" as Walter Matthau, Gwen Verdon, Abe Vagoda, Carol Channing, Savion Glover, Steve Condos, Hugh O’Brien and many others (most of them are not with us any more!!)

And while I certainly love to perform, I’ve found that one of my greatest strengths is in knowing how to recognize and develop talent in others and how to put together a great production.

I have directed and choreographed countless shows and developed performers and groups. Some of my students have gone on to professional careers in the theatre and even opera careers. Locally I’ve per-formed with the Greater Portland Chorus, Bridge City Harmony, The Portland Tap Connection, the Stellar Rockettes, and my own acappella quartet, "Ta-Dah!"

My goal is to develop this new Show Choir into something spectacular, working with the strengths while improving weaknesses of each member. I hope you will join us on the exciting adventure!!
