The first Sur La Table store opened in Seattle's Pike Place Market in 1972 selling hard-to-find kitchenware imported from France. Since then the company has expanded to 74 stores nationwide, a direct-mail business distributing millions of catalogs each year, an e-commerce site, a gift registry, and one of the country's largest cooking class programs.
Sur La Table continues to carry many of the same products from France that it carried when it opened, but now offers tools from around the world to prepare any cuisine. Sur La Table remains committed to its roots by continuing to provide exceptional customer service and a broad assortment of premium-quality products. Review of Sur La Table, April 15, 2009
I've taken two classes at Sur La Table in Kirkland. Both were extremely fun and well managed. Surroundings were comfortable, chefs amazing, facility well supplied, and food extremely fresh and tasty. Learned to prepare wonderful recipes, efficient use of kitchen tools, and to savior the joy of a job well done. One couple there attended as their "date night"! How cool is that !!

Review of Quick and Delicious Meals From the Farmers Market (Hands on Cooking Class), April 14, 2009
My wife and I really enjoyed this class -- it was a small group (~8 of us) and we had so much fun with the other attendees -- loved that we could 'shop' before and after as well!
