Tanya Darling was first exposed to fine food and wine during her studies in France as a young woman where she became fascinated by the interplay between wine, food, history, and cultural identity. Educated in the Wine and Spirit Education Trust Diploma program, and at the Cervantes Institute in NYC, Tanya is also a stalwart traveler; she has visited many of the great wine regions of Western and Eastern Europe as well as the those of the United States. Over the past 5 years Tanya has developed a wide-reaching wine appreciation program at Whole Foods Market’s Salud Cooking School in Seattle where it has been great joy for her to encourage and delight her students. Her love of classical wines, her passion for life, nature, and gastronomy inspire her teaching, and her classes are often filled to overflowing. Tanya is an experienced wine retailer, and is currently available for consultation every Saturday & Sunday in the wine department of Whole Foods Market in Seattle's Ravenna neighborhood.

Review of Tanya Darling, September 14, 2009
Tanya is such an amazing instructor! I can't give her enough stars for a class packed with engaging information and fun! I have taken several of her classes and came away feeling like a wine expert for her enthusiasm is catching. One class was about the wines of Chianti, Tuscany and Umbria, just one of the areas that Tanya knows so much about. It is astounding how much she knows about all the wine regions of France, Italy, Spain and all the regions of American wine making. I don't know how she does it. No wonder she has such a following of wine enthusiasts who keep coming back for more. Recommended highly as a wonderful, engaging communicator!
