Telemark Northwest was founded to bring the all-mountain telemark experience to alpinists in the greater Seattle area. Our professional staff has almost 30 years of collective moutaineering, alpine, telemark and snowboarding experience and provides students of all ages and abilities the tools and skills to build their telemarking techniques. We believe that building a strong alpine foundation of conditioning and technique will help students progress rapidly and enjoy the sport.

We are located at the Summit of Snoqualmie which is 45 miles east of Seattle on I-90. The Summit averages over 414″ of snowfall per year. The Northwest tradition of skiing began in the 1920’s and 30’s, years before the opening of the Snoqualmie Summit Ski Area. The earliest skiiers were telemarkers and ski jumpers. Since then, telemark skiing has evolved through technology, equipment and technique. Lessons can be done at any of the Summit mountains (West, Central, East and Alpental)

Telemark Northwestl teaches progressive telemarking that allows students to ski through varied terrain including backcountry, off-piste, moguls, corduroy, crud and terrain park. Come join us on the mountain and sign up for our private programs!
