The Ballet Studio's Profile

At The Ballet Studio, we teach adult ballet classes exclusively in a supportive and professional atmosphere. Our live musical accompaniment, and old style dance studio with dressing rooms, two walls of mirrors, stationary and portable barres, air conditioning and daylight windows make for a lovely setting in which to learn ballet. We offer new students a complimentary placement class. We do not take students by the class, but on a session basis. In this way, we can move our students forward in an organized manner with a set syllabus.

Maren Erickson, the Director of The Ballet StudioI has been teaching adult ballet classes for over 30 years in Seattle. She holds a degree in Dance Education from the University of Washington, where she was a guest lecturer in Dance. She danced as a guest artist with Pacific Northwest Ballet for five years, and taught both children and adults there for nine years. Ms. Erickson is joined by Kristin Lewis and Kristen Darby. Kristin Lewis trained at Orgeon Dance Academy and University of North Carolina. She has been on our faculty since 2004. Kristen Darby holds a B.F.A. fro Cornish College, and has been teaching since 1989. She trained at Pacific Northwest Ballet and San Francisco Ballet.
